Basic Level IV Certification-Resit

This course is for any nurse who has failed the two attempts at the original test (Basic Level IV Therapy-Initial Certification) on Moodle. This course has the same resources that are currently in the original course.

Basic Level IV Therapy-Initial Certification

This course is designed to develop the knowledge and skills in managing infusion therapies and related medicines in Boulcott hospital. This is a basic requirement for all RNs and ENs who practice in the clinical areas. Topics covered include:

  • Boulcott Policies and Procedure manuals for Infusion Therapies
  • Fluid administration
  • Care of peripheral IV Canulae
  • Blood and blood products administration
  • Drug calculations and medication administration
  • Complications of IV Therapy
  • Infusion Therapies Pumps

Direct Injection of IV Opiates

This course is intended for PACU nurses who are required to administer direct IV boluses of opiates for the management of moderate to severe pain, in the immediate post-anaesthesia period.
